How long does a home inspection take?

Most inspections take a few hours, depending on the size, age, and condition of the home. Larger homes and older homes typically take longer that a smaller home or a new construction build.

What exactly does a home inspection cover?

A standard home inspection by HomeScan exceeds the standards of practice as set forth by the Alabama Dept of Construction Management. It is a top to bottom visual only, not technically exhaustive inspection. The actual standards can be found at the following link: https://admincode.legislature.state.al.us/api/chapter/355-18-1

Do I need to attend the inspection?

You're welcome to join — it's a great way to learn about the home and ask questions in person. You can attend the entire inspection or arrive at any time prior to completion. In the event you cannot attend, no worries, consultation is available once the report is completed and published.

When will I receive my report?

You will receive a clear, photo-rich digital report on the day of inspection.
